Course Description

The PALS course is designed to provide pediatric healthcare providers with the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage critically ill infants and children and help improve outcomes.

Heartcode eLearning

The course content is presented in the form of self-directed learning content, probing questions, and Cognitive Assessment Activities (CAAs). After completing the eLearning component, students perform their skills with an AHA Instructor or a HeartCode compatible manikin that provides real-time audio and visual feedback. Students must successfully complete both the cognitive portion and the hands-on skills session to receive an AHA ACLS Provider eCard, valid for two years.

Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS)

Course Length

Initial Course approximately 12 hours

Renewal Course approximately 6 hours

PALS renewal is for expired or current cardholders looking to renew.

Hands-on skills approximately 2 hours

This course offers the hands-on skills portion to the blended learning Heartcode PALS, once completed online. Please do not choose this option if you have not purchased the HeartCode PALS and completed its online component.

Heartcode PALS 

This is a blended course to includes an online portion and a hands-on skills session. The online component is built to be completed in the convenience of your home, work, or suitable online environment and to prepare you for skills testing. Once completed you will call and schedule a hands-only skills session. The cost for the class includes both online and skills.
